Students & Trainees
Mentorship is a central part of my work as a clinician-scientist. I am committed to training and supporting students and trainees who are interested in advancing brain health equity, culturally responsive neuropsychology, and community-engaged research.
I aim to create a mentoring environment that is rigorous, supportive, and grounded in mutual respect, curiosity, and accountability.
Mentorship Philosophy
My approach to mentorship emphasizes:
- Cultural Humility: Centering culture, language, and lived experience in research and clinical practice
- Skill development: Building strong foundations in research design, analysis, writing, and communication
- Critical thinking: Encouraging thoughtful engagement with theory, methods, and ethics
- Professional growth: Supporting career development across academic, clinical, and community settings
- Collaboration: Fostering teamwork and interdisciplinary learning
